Movements of the Psyche

Yaten stayed that way a moment longer then his shoulders slumped all life flooding from him as his eyes returned to normal. He clutched his head.... "Close... it's close... sorry was I walking?" He asked realizing that he was staring directly into Haruka's concerned eyes.. he blushed. Then adverted his gaze. "Gomen, I wasn't going anywhere.. that I know of.. it's more like following some thing that was calling me, I didn't realize that I was doing it." He said straightening his shoulders. "I'm sorry if I had you worried..."

"It's all right, Yaten-kun," Haruka said, relieved that her friend was all right. "You looked possessed for a second there. You were walking, yes, but apparently you weren't aware of it."
Then she took her hands off his shoulders, seeing that he was better now, back to normal. He was blushing again. He seemed to be doing that often. He never blushed that much though. . .
"I'm glad you're okay," Haruka said. "But was the Crystal calling you again? I'll have to keep my eye on you too. I don't want you walking off on your own like that, especially since you're one of the people we need at finding the Crystals directly. I don't want to lose you. . ."
*Ne, Yaten-kun? Blushing? I still don't. . .* Haruka wondered to herself. *Well, anyway, at least he's all right. We'll have to leave soon. . . I should let the others know--Oh, Kami-sama!*
Haruka stopped for a second to clear an extra thought that came in her mind.
*Kami-sama. . . Ne, it can't be,* Haruka thought with a smile to herself as she shook her head. *It can't be. . . No, it wouldn't be possible. Interesting, but not possible. . . Could it?*

Still sitting in the room Nandeshiko was in Sarice's eyes filled with tears, nothing made sense to her anymore. She slowly stood up and walked out of the room, looking around, her eyes stopped on a window, and she just stared at the sky, not really looking at anything... in her eyes, the tears pleading for help ran down her face.

Upon Midoriko's words, Calmarya began thinking back on her life. She had helped the Empress and her brother destroy countless worlds, even entire galaxies. But what had she done that actually benefited someone other than her Empress? Then, she remembered something about her childhood that had taken long, so long, to block out.
*flashback*
"Kalko and his stupid sister are just more pieces to use for my benefit." The Empress said to her main General of the time, Talmore. What she did not know was that Calmarya was listening, behind a wall.
"But they are your children." Talmore said. "Our children." He moved in close to the Empress to hug her.
"Don't touch me." she said, pushing him back. "Do you really think I bore your children because I actually cared for you? I simply needed someone of my own blood, someone who would inherit my power, and use it to help me reach my goal all the sooner. You are but another tool yourself, Talmore. But if you are getting sentimental, perhaps I need a new tool."
"But I just can't stand you talking like that about my son and daughter!" Talmore cried.
"You have forgotten who you are talking to." the Empress replied angrily. "We have had this conversation for the last time." She waved her hand, and suddenly, he simply stopped breathing, and fell to the floor. "My little Cliff of Nightmares has a new member." the Empress said, laughing, referring to the cliff outside of her palace, where she put her personal opponents and failed allies.
*end flashback*
As she remembered this, hundreds of thoughts ran through her mind. Could her own mother, even though she is somewhat vile, actually be evil enough to kill the father of her children, and possibly the children themselves? "NO!" she suddenly cried, tears welling in her eyes. She cringed on the floor, her head between her arms. "She wouldn't do that!"

Yaten regained his composure and nodded his head. "Yes the crystal was calling to me.. Like 'Odango Atama' herself was leading me to them, yet, I know that isn't it.. it's more like they want to be found by a pure heart.. it's hard to explain. Sorry if I scared you." He looked back out towards the door. *She's right, they need me to find the crystals... now that it's apparent that I can follow the pulse of light they give off...* Yaten looked back at her... then away again.

Sakura looked at Calmarya and shook her head. *Sometimes the truth is harder to bear than the lie. And sometimes the lie is what we prefer to live in. Interesting. I wonder if she'll stop lying to herself....*

No, you didn't scare me, Yaten-kun," Haruka said, seeing his back turned to her.
*Still. . . the idea of it. . . Hm. . .* Haruka stood there, idly scratching the back of her neck, still pondering as she saw Yaten's silver hair flowing behind the Starlight. Then she heard sobbing and sniffling from the room. She looked over and saw both Sarice and Calmarya crying. *Aw, we don't have time for this. What's wrong now?* Haruka wondered. *We have to be on our way!*
"Bao-sama, I'm sorry again, but we must be leaving. If the others want to stay, they can catch up with us later. The Crystal needs to be found, and--" And Haruka was about to say that 'Yaten-kun has felt one of them already' but she changed her words to "--The four of us will be leaving then."
Haruka walked over to Michiru. "Gomennasai, Michiru. . ." Haruka said, giving her a hug. Then she looked over to Saturn. "Gomen to both of you. But," and she added in a low voice, "Yaten-kun can feel the Crystal. Strongly. Let's go before his feeling fades away."

Calmarya stood up, wiping her eyes, trying to hide her sadness and confusion from her flashback. *I have to tell Kalko to be careful. To make sure he knows not to get our mother... Empress any angrier.* She caught snippets of conversations between Haruka and the others concerning the Crystal. "Wait." she said. "I'm okay now, I'm coming too. I want to help."

Sarice wiped her eyes and walked over to where Yaten was standing and smiled. She looked around at the others, "Should we make a plan, or just make it up as we go along?" Her smile faded and her face looked stern. She could feel her bravery return as she spoke, "The sooner we get out there, the sooner everything will be normal again!"

Yaten looked at Sarice and shook his head. She had a pure shine to her. Much like Minako's, radiant. But that didn't mean that he could trust her. Looking out the door, he began to feel it... like it refused to let him go, the pulse of the yellow crystal.. turning he closed his eyes, and began to sing Nageboshi he. His rhythm was off... it was in time to the crystal.. as he was trying to receive an image, a message, instead of sending.. he rose his voice slightly. *Serenity-hime, Odango-atama, please if it is you who is leading us.. please help me to find their rhythm...* he thought as he sang. *For all of our sakes...*

Sakura watched all of this with mild interest.

Sarice sang in tune and rhythm with Yaten, hoping she could help, making sure her voice is just loud enough to be heard.

"Aie, Yaten-kun's at it again," Haruka said, looking over at the singing, silver-haired Starlight. She looked over to Sarice, who was also singing.
Haruka then let the two of them be for now. . .If Yaten was finding the Crystal's location after all, Haruka shouldn't stop him. She just wished that she wasn't so useless and helpless when it came to finding the Crystal in the first place. She wondered about his feelings. . .He said it felt like the Queen's presence, but not quite. What was he feeling? What did it sound like for it to be calling him?
Her dark, deep, blue-green eyes kept watch over the Starlight. If he were going to be lead by the Crystal, she'd have to follow to ensure his safety. Haruka gave Michiru and Saturn a nod. They would be leaving. She walked over to Yaten, and laid a hand on his right shoulder.
"Yaten-kun, I'm sorry to interrupt, but use your power to lead us to the Crystal as best you can. We have to get it before it is lost."

Yaten nodded his head as he lowers the song into a light hum. Smiling slightly at Haruka, he wasn't sure how to tell her that this confused him, and then looking out he felt his shoulders relax, and closed his eyes, singing not with words but with the melody itself. His mind rushed from him, he was seeing the pulse of the starseeds around him, the pulse of the starseeds in the city, then he felt it. The strong light of the yellow crystal, Opening his eyes he began walking, towards the door. He had stopped humming. He looked much like he had the first time she stopped him. Walking forwards his hand landed on the door knob. Whether they followed him or not was up to them.

Sakura walked behind them. Following behind and not wanting to be left behind.

Calmarya walked behind Sakura, picked her up, and began following Yaten and the others with him. "You'll follow better if I carry you." Calmarya whispered to Sakura as they walked.

"Calling all senshi," Haruka said with a smile, but she was dead serious, as if she were teasing the girls for the challenge. "We'll be going now. All of you who want to come, come. If not, stay here. Up to you." Then she turned around, seeing Yaten walk toward the door and now opening the door. She did not want to interrupt his train of thought. The little three-year-old. . .Sakura, was it?. . .was coming as well. Haruka felt that something was wrong about her, but couldn't place it. "Let's go, Michiru, Saturn," Haruka said. She did wonder though, where Yaten's mind would lead the rest of the group. Of course it would lead to the Crystal, but where was the Crystal located itself? She wondered about that. And if it took this long to find just one Crystal, how long would it take to find the other six?

"I'm going, besides, some ones gotta watch out for ya!" she said with a wink. Sarice walked over to Haruka and smiled, "So what now?"

Midoriko trailed along behind the rest of the senshi, thinking towards Sakura, ~It's not easy when a twin betrays you, is it? At least you have the luxury of madness. I don't. My duty is to guard and judge all souls save the senshi, who are judged by Saturn. And I know the pain of having someone you trust turn on you...~
(Flashback)
Charon was standing in front of the gates, muttering to herself. "Luna's wrong, he can't be doing this. She's lying, he's not evil. Ryuoshi wouldn't work for Beryl..." Her half forgotten memories told her Ryuoshi was a gentle and mischievous person, not evil and hateful as Luna said he now was.
A footfall behind her caused Charon to whirl around. Her twin stood a few feet away. She paused, confused. The Ryuoshi she remembered had looked gentle, even innocent, his common outfit being a light, almost white, violet tunic, loose black pants, violet boots, and a black headband to keep his long hair out of his eyes. This person was almost a stranger, with his hair pulled back in a ponytail, his outfit matching the four generals, except black with violet lining. His eyes were flat and calm looking, although madness was obvious in them.
"Hello, Little Bit." Charon took a step forward, her confusion growing. This person sounded like Ryuoshi, and used the nickname Ryuoshi had given her as a child, but her mind told her it wasn't her twin. "Just walk away and go back to your family, Little Bit. I'll guard the gates for you." She stepped back, her mind screaming warnings to her.
"No, Luna said I was to guard the gates..." Charon's eyes widened in shock, then pain, as her twin threw a ball of black energy at her. It struck her left shoulder, engulfing and shattering the bones in her arm down to her wrist. Ryuoshi laughed as she fell screaming, then kicked her knee, dislocating it. "Poor little Charon. I gave you a chance to back out, you just didn't know when to take it." His left hand lashed out, cracking several of her ribs. Charon barely had the breath to gasp out one of her attacks, hoping it might work. "Broken Dawn, Shield!" The shield wrapped around Ryuoshi, trapping him despite his best efforts to break out. Charon dragged herself into a standing position, preparing to kill him. Slowly her hand fell back to her side. "I can't... Serenity forgive me, I can't. I banish you forever, Ryuoshi." As the shield disappeared, taking him along with it, Charon sank back to the ground, tears running down her face. "Ryuoshi, forgive me..."
(End flashback.)

Ryuoshi swore under his breath. She'd disappeared. He pounded his fist against the stone wall, wishing it was Midoriko's head instead. ~GET OUT OF MY MIND!~
He fell, screaming in shock. The little brat had been subjugated for ages, and now he was trying to break free? Not a chance.
~SHUT UP YOU STUPID BRAT! This is my mind and body now, you can't do anything to free it.~ The brat clearly thought otherwise. He lay curled in a fetal position on the ground, gasping with pain, as two souls fought over the physical form they shared.

Midoriko had a split second warning before the red hot agony hit. She fell screaming, tears running down her face as her rational thought processes were torn apart by the fighting within her twin's mind. She beat her hands futilely against her temples, trying to block out the noise.

Yaten walked, the lights of white starseeds blurred around him, the pulse of them barely on the edge of his mind. He walked through crowds of people no more than glittering lights before his mind. Usually he didn't go this deep, only allowed himself to feel, not see the lights of stars, but he had to do this. Walking on he moved through a crowd of school girls seeing nothing more than their shines.. which compared to a true starseed weren't very bright. He could feel it calling to him, the light of the yellow crystal, almost as if it had a pulse, it was a warm light, like Usagi. He walked past buildings going further and further into the city. He stopped in a park slowly tilting his head, as if he were looking for something... the light that was so strong it was blinding. There it was. Walking over he knelt down before a beautiful rose bush. A bush that he didn't see. Laying down on his stomach and tearing apart his hand as he reached into the bush, his eyes cleared as he pulled out a small yellow crystal.. and something else.. the knowledge that it only got harder from here. Folding his hand around the crystal he held it close to him.. if the others had fallen in places like the ocean like Haruka thought, then they were in trouble... more trouble than imagined... his head hurt. Really hurt, like Seiya was playing the drums with his head strapped to it. Holding the crystal close to his chest, and tightly in his fist, he looked to the others hoping that they were behind him, he felt drained and sick.. like hunting down the crystal had taken just about all he had. He was pale.. it hadn't been like just feeling the starseeds.. it had been like it was pulling him to it... he was weak, but not defenseless. "Haruka.." He said her name softly looking for the tall sky senshi. He sat on the ground, unsure of where he was....

Sakura had stared in silent shock at Calmarya. ~Why are you carrying me? I would have thought that you'd be overjoyed to be rid of me. All I've done is torment you. Why? Are you keeping me close as an enemy?~ She was confused.. she didn't understand her comment about *You'll keep up easier this way..* rang in her ears...

"Kalko." the Empress said.
"Yes, my Empress." Kalko replied, immediately stepping down from his throne and kneeling.
"You incompetent, porcine little wretch." the Empress replied. "The Senshi now have possession of the Yellow Rainbow Crystal." she aimed her index finger at him. He slowly rose, levitating way up to the highest part of the ceiling in the throne room, several hundred feet high. She then put her finger down. He then dropped, like a ball, back to the ground, smashing a hole in the floor as he landed. "Get that Crystal. If you don't, I'll make sure it feels much worse." the Empress said, staring at him as he lay in the hole. He looked up, and she was no longer there.

Using all his strength, Kalko managed to levitate himself out of the deep hole. Gathering a little more, he waved his hand over the floor, and the hole vanished, becoming hard floor once again. He held his hand in front of him, and a large, yellow-skinned monster appeared in front of him. It had three big, green eyes, one above the other two, in a triangle formation. Its teeth were large fangs, slimy with its own saliva. Its ears were long and pointed. It had three sets of arms, each one with a different number of fingers. Its seven legs were long and thick, with great claws coming from it. Its two tails each had a lobster-like claw at its tip, which could grasp nearly anything. It had two pairs of long, skin-flap wings, like a bat. Altogether, it stood nearly up to the ceiling Kalko had just fallen from. Kalko waved his hand at the roof, and it simply vanished. "You are very strong." he told his creation. "You have great strength, and the ability to absorb any attack they throw at you, and throw it right back at them. Now go, bring me the Yellow Crystal!" The monster then flew away, growling loudly, the roof reforming behind it as it flew.

~I don't know.~ Calmarya told Sakura after a moment. ~I don't know why I offered to carry you. I just felt like doing it, so I did.~ She looked on as Yaten retrieved the Yellow Crystal. She looked at the others with them. "What do we do now?" Then, she looked up, and saw a horrible yellow creature flying in the air, right above them, at an incredible speed. Then, she watched as it looked straight at her, then made a quick turn, and started flying down, straight at them. "Uh, guys? We've got big trouble..." she said. The beast roared.

"I'm going. You come if you want," Haruka said to Sarice. She gave Sarice an indifferent nod, then headed out of the door after Yaten. Calmarya had come along as well, and as long as they did not burden her, Haruka couldn't say anything about them being there.
Haruka kept her distance from Yaten, who seemed to be walking on air, yet some sort of wind was pulling and pushing him in a certain direction. She watched him being called forth by a spirit, a spirit she couldn't see, couldn't hear, couldn't feel. Of course she would be able to see the light of the Yellow Crystal if it came in range, but for her life she wouldn't be able to find it on her own using only her intuition. She followed the Starlight into a park, and noticed him peeking into a rose bush. A rose. . . Beautiful and delicate like a Crystal, yet to obtain the beauty one would have to endure the obstacles, the thorns. Then she saw Yaten holding something, as if he were holding a little bird, not wanting it to fly away just yet. The Crystal. . . He actually found it. Not that Haruka doubted him or anything of the sort, but she didn't believe it was that easy. The others would be more difficult, rest assured. But something was disturbing the wind. Haruka paused for a moment. She could hear something as well. . . She almost didn't believe it. It was something like Yaten had said he felt before. . . Similar to Kakyuu-hime, similar to her own Princess, but not quite. But she knew somehow that it wasn't the Crystal Yaten was holding because the feeling she felt. . . It felt distant, calling her from a faraway place, far, far away from where she and the others were.
She dismissed the thought for now, knowing that definitely, she would have to hear the wind again at another time. She knelt down beside Yaten after he called her name. He look lost and confused, in some sort of pain she probably didn't understand.
"Yaten-san," she said softly with a smile. "You found one. Only six more to go. Thank you. If one of the other Outers or myself can turn into a senshi quickly, we can send the Crystal to the cosmic oblivion we send our Talismans to for safekeeping." She smiled again, then placed her left hand on his forehead. "Are you okay though?" she asked, seeing that he went pale after finding the Crystal.
"Hey, we don't want this Light going out or being lost either, okay?" she said, tapping his heart again with her index finger. "C'mon, I think you need rest. Let's go back now. But thank you. . .Thank you so much for finding the first Crystal." She stood up, and still smiling, extended her hand out to her friend so she could help him stand up.

Sakura looked back and finally noticed Midoriko. Yaten had found the yellow crystal, a new youma had appeared, and Midoriko was in pain. ~Thank you Calmarya.~ She squirmed as she set down on the ground. ~I'll deal with Midoriko, you help the others. This game suddenly got alot more dangerous.~ She then moved over to Midoriko and grew once again becoming Galatica. "Don't get too comfy with this, I just don't agree with Kalko, or his Empress. A twin's betrayal can be painful." She said as she placed a hand on Midoriko's forehead. Easing the pain the other was feeling, once again the marks appeared. And once again her eyes cleared. "It's horrible to be on the verge of insanity because of another. I'm struggling to reclaim what I lost. You? You're struggling to hold on to what you have." A white energy dome appeared around them.

Yaten looked at the youma approaching them. He stood on shaky legs and looked at it. Not good, and he had a pretty good idea what it was after. He put the crystal in his subspace pocket as they had more important matters at the moment, he walked forwards and into the white barrier, it was obviously meant for attacks and not people. Kneeling before her he shook his head. "I lost my brother and sister to family, so I can understand this pain you're feeling. Both of you. However we don't have time for this. Help her as best as you can." Then he walked out next to Calmarya. "I remember you now. You were on Kinmoku." He looked at her with tired jade eyes. "You led an army that helped in the fall of my world." He became Healer and staggered. She looked at her. "I know you're not all that evil. If you were, you wouldn't have doubts about what you're doing. Ask me about my past sometime, and we'll compare notes." She looked out. "I'm not saying that I trust you. I'm saying that maybe the road of darkness you've been walking down isn't the right one." She took another step forward, staggered, and fell to her knees. She tried to get back up, but she was tired, and fell back to her knees... "Calmarya, I know you have a good heart, listen to it, instead of the fear for once. It's never too late to get a second chance, this world taught me that."

Healer managed to stand when she realized that Haruka had been holding out her hand, she walked back and smiled. "I don't plan on going out, not before I find the others for you anyways...there's so much to deal with right now, sorry didn't mean to seem like I was ignoring you." She dropped to her knees, she wanted to go to sleep. "I have the crystal in the same place I keep my attack star when I'm not using it. It may be best if we keep them separated among ourselves, I'll hold on to this one for now." She smiled wryly. "I can feel it's strength. I doubt I can use it, but I can feel it neither the less. I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be any good during this fight, finding the crystal just about tapped me. Gomen, it appears I'm a burden to you right now." She was blushing and staring at the ground.. because she was embarrassed at her weakness before the sky senshi.

Haruka nodded at Healer's apology, not wanting to look like she didn't care, but the situation at hand was grave. She hadn't expected a youma to appear, especially since the senshi were now in China. "Just as long as you're okay, Healer. But you keep the Crystal safe, all right? I don't want to doubt my trust in you, ne?"
*Shimatta, Kalko's coming after us,* she thought as she looked at the youma coming toward them.
"Michiru, transform! But please, Neptune, Saturn, be careful, I don't want you hurt," Haruka said quickly. She transformed into Eternal Sailor Uranus, and saw Healer's weakened state. Uranus summoned her Space Sword, the bladed weapon appearing in her right hand.
"Healer, get somewhere safe. I'll take care of this youma," Uranus said. "WORLD. . .SHAKING!" she cried, sending the yellow energy attack toward the monster.

Healer nodded feeling useless right now, but she knew that Uranus was right, she had to get somewhere safe. Standing on shaky legs she made her way to a couple of trees and turned watching the battle and feeling helpless, while her strength slowly returned to her. Her heart was racing as she watched Uranus do battle....

After Calmarya heard Healer's words, she began wondering about herself. *Am I doing the right thing, following the Empress?* she thought to herself. She remembered past battles. *All I've done for the Empress is kill innocent people.* she thought. *That can't be right.* Then, she decided she should help the Senshi, and try to get her brother to do the same. *Okay, after this battle, I'll go to Kalko to talk to him, even fight him, if I can. But I'll eventually have to tell the others the truth about me. What will they think of me then?* She watched as Uranus sent an attack at the yellow monster. Symbolic of her change of heart, she sent a large blast at the youma as well.

The monster was unaffected by Calmarya's and Uranus' attacks. It held up two of its hands, absorbed Uranus' World Shaking in one hand, and Calmarya's attack in the other. Then, it put its hands together, forming one mass mix of the two attacks. It was about to fling it at Uranus and Calmarya both, but something about Calmarya made it stop. It realized that she was connected to Kalko. Therefore, it sent the attack to Uranus and Sarice.

Midoriko stood carefully within the dome, turning to Galatica. ~I wish I knew a way to help you. Or a way to restore this stone of flowing. But I don't.~

Ryuoshi was long past being able to tell anything but the agonizing pain flowing through his mind. He gasped almost soundless words, sometimes in Japanese, other times in the languages of the Silver Millennium. Both natures had refused to give any ground, both causing agonizing pain. He had managed to drag himself to his feet, and he stumbled, weaving as if drunk, almost straight into the middle of the battle. The youma's claws lashed backwards, slamming into him and sending him flying. He landed on his back hearing a dull wet crack. One part of his mind still capable of thinking analyzed the situation as new waves of pain pounded through his skull. Some of his ribs were broken for sure, and the crack might have been his spine breaking. Which would explain why his legs had gone numb as well. As the monster backed away from Uranus, he realized with quiet detachment that it was going to fall over on top of him.

Midoriko watched what was happening, and felt a scream rising in her throat. Even transformed, she'd never reach him in time. ~My brother...~

Sarice quickly transformed into Sailor Wind and screamed her attack, WIND HEAT... BLAST!!!!" A bit taken back by the attack she barely had enough strength to move out of the way from the on coming attack, she leaped towards Uranus knocking her out of the way, "Gomen, I'll try to warn you before I 'tackle' you." she said attempting to smile.

"Shimatta!" Uranus cried, seeing the youma absorbing the energy of her attack. She quickly spun around, seeing the white-haired girl she had been suspicious of attack as well.
*Calmarya? Nani. . .?* Uranus thought. *Too many things going at once!* she realized. Calmarya was attacking, Midoriko looked extremely pale, Healer went to find cover, and Uranus still had to make sure Michiru and Saturn were fine. . .
Then she felt herself being shoved out of the way. . .by Sailor Wind.
"Wind-san," Uranus said, getting up off the ground as she watched the double attack the youma sent back to them fly past her. "Arigatou, Wind-san," Uranus said, and even she couldn't help but return a small smile of gratitude. Then she turned angrily toward the youma, noticing that Wind's attack was heading toward the yellow monster, but the monster could have attacked Calmarya when it had the chance, but it didn't! Uranus was still unsure about that exactly. . ."Midoriko-san! Transform!" Uranus said. "Wind-san," she continued to the girl who saved her. "I don't know how your attack will work on the youma, but I think we can't use magical powers on it. We've gotta fight it straight on." Uranus had been holding her Space Sword in her left hand since she had to use her right hand to send the World Shaking attack. But now she knew. . .She put the Sword into her fighting hand, and prepared herself. "Charon-san, Wind-san, and you, Calmarya," Uranus said, including the white-haired girl. If she was really on their side, this might prove it to be true. "If any of you have weapons, fight this youma off with me, got it?"
Midoriko watched the monster trip and start to fall towards Ryuoshi, who it had hit by accident earlier. She couldn't get to him, even if she transformed. "NOOOOOOOO!" Midoriko's scream finally released from her throat. Tears ran down her face, as her mental scream echoed across the battleground. ~Ryuoshi!~ "Charon Crisis Power!" Even as she transformed, Charon knew she'd never make it. ~Uranus, please, my brother's behind that thing! I can't get to him in time!~
Ryuoshi watched the youma start to fall, knowing that his spine was severed and he was paralyzed. He felt tears slip down his face, not for him, but for his twin. ~Charon, forgive me...~ The anger and bitterness left his heart, incapable of understanding these emotions. ~I did not want this...~

Sailor Wind, not having any weapons nodded feeling as if she could no longer help, *I'll do anything I can to help... but what can I do...* she could feel the anger swelling up inside her, suddenly she screams, forgetting all of her manners, "I'LL USE MY BARE FISTS IF I HAFTA!!!" Her eyes narrowed and she glared at the monster, feeling herself start to tremble as she noticed what else was going on, tears started streaming down her face yet she started smiling, "Uranus, you'd better hurry... before some one else loses a family member..."

Galatica was kneeling and watching the battle, so far she was amused by it. But could the senshi win? She held her staff in hand and watched.

Healer hid behind a tree feeling helpless. And cursing herself for it. She watched them, and closed her eyes. Why wouldn't her energy return faster.. what about finding the crystal had left her weak? Why? She didn't understand, yet knew in her heart, that she would do it again, to help the people of earth. As the senshi had once helped them.

The monster managed to get its balance back, thus barely missing Ryuoshi. However, using one of its tail claws, it picked him up and held him high in the air, planning to finish him off. Calmarya sent another blast at it, and again it absorbed it, this time reflecting it upon Midoriko.

Seeing her attack fail again, Calmarya shed her disguise, converting to her natural form, in the black clothing and with the black jewel on her forehead, her white hair returning to its many braids. She sent her most powerful attack at the monster, making sure the man in its tail claws would not be affected, only the monster. The monster had to use all six hands to absorb this attack, and it took several minutes to absorb. While it was doing so, Calmarya used her powers and tapped into its brain.
~Everybody.~ she called out to the present Senshi and their allies after a few minutes. ~I made sure that attack would only disperse into air when it flings it back at us. I only did that to distract it so I could learn its weaknesses. Aim for its two lower eyes. That will weaken it. Then, everyone who is able must combine and direct their energy into the Yellow Rainbow Crystal, and aim for its top eye. That will destroy it. But be careful, it has a hostage. We've got to rescue that guy first somehow.~ As predicted, when the monster finally absorbed the attack completely, when it sent it back, the attack didn't work.

Ryuoshi screamed as the thing grabbed him, compounding some of his wounds. He was close to blacking out when he saw it aim for his twin and heard Calmarya's advice to aim for its two lower eyes. He also saw the attack heading for his sister. His healed heart flared with rage, and he called on one of the two attacks he had in this form.
"Dark Destruction." As whispered as Pluto's Dead Scream, the attack destroyed the two lower eyes in its head, as well as a good portion of its lower face. It dropped him, and his pain was redoubled when he hit the ground. Vaguely, he heard himself scream again, then blacked out.

Charon saw the events in slow motion, but she reacted quickly enough.
"Broken Dawn Shield!" The attack bounced off harmlessly, and she silently started gathering her energy.

Galatica watched all of this and looked at him. Something in her heart refused to let this man die. A white energy sphere wrapped around him and lifted him to her. "Battle freely Senshi, this once I'll aid you in battle, this once to pay back a duet owed. Then don't count on it a second time." Galatica turned her head and looked at the hidden Healer, restoring her power, to a point, the girl would last this battle, then it was up to the senshi to get her out alive.
Healer braced herself and stood. Smiling at Calmarya. She felt her strength returning. ~Good call. Follow your heart. If you do, you'll never stand alone.~ She walked forwards and took the yellow crystal from its place next to her attack star. She turned slightly and held it, focusing the fires of her inferno, she called upon her attack star second, knowing that both the attack star, and the yellow crystal would be called back to the hiding place if she passed out... she charged the attack star so that it formed a ball of glittering teal light, around the yellow crystal. Her strength while in battle due to adrenaline had been restored.. somewhat.. ~Min'na, I can hold it, but you have to hurry.~ She was holding it above her head and wondering if she had just made herself a sitting target.. but she could feel it, an unyielding hope.

Calmarya walked over and put her hands over Healer's, adding to the strength of the Crystal and the rest of the energy being entered into it. "Thank you." she whispered. The monster roared in pain and rage as its two lower eyes were destroyed, along with most of its face, and dropped Ryuoshi. It tried to fly higher so the Senshi's attacks wouldn't reach him, but he was in so much pain from his eyes and face that he couldn't concentrate on flying, and gradually fell to the ground, landing semi-softly, clutching its eyes.

Charon gently walked over and rested her hands above Calmarya's. Her own darker energy merging with theirs. ~You've made a good start towards redeeming yourself.~ She thought to Calmarya, ~Just keep it up.~

Uranus nodded, and was about to save Ryuoshi, but Galactica had already brought Ryuoshi in a ball of white light to them. He looked like he would be all right. It would just take some time. . .
The sky senshi had seen Calmarya rid herself of her disguise. *I knew it. . . She was hiding her true form the whole time.* But at least she was helping. . . for some reason. Uranus then decided to comply with the others and give her energy to the Yellow Rainbow Crystal.
*Healer, you'd better stay alive,* she thought as she closed her eyes. The blue sign of Uranus flashed on her forehead, and she placed her hand over everyone else's, sending the blue energy of her planet to the Crystal.

Healer was trembling she smiled at Calmarya's words. ~No, thank you, I could talk at you all I want, but you had to be willing to listen.~ She thought at her then heard Uranus words.. and felt a heated blush creep up her cheeks. ~I won't. I promise. I can't let you have all the fun now can I?~ She looked at the youma... where was she... Nandeshiko. Healer felt her strength coming and going...~Where are you...~ She thought at the psycho senshi...

Galatica looked on and frowned. This wasn't like anything she had seen before.. even though it was taxing everything the small girl had she still held on. Uranus was worried about her, and Calmarya was fighting on their side. Wind was adding to their power. Charon was also helping. She seemed pleased that Calmarya was making a come back.
*It's their own fault.. they couldn't handle chaos so I had to.* Galaxia's voice echoed in her ears.
*No, you're wrong...* her own mind argued back.. the five marks appeared as the good in her soul reached out and added power to the yellow crystal. Only one more left... was she even still here.. *Why am I helping them?* she wondered as she looked on.

Ryuoshi heard her thoughts. ~Because you're one of the most gentle beings in the world,~ His mental voice whispered. ~Hatred becomes you no more than it does me.~ Although weakened, he added a small amount of his own energy to the gathering force around the yellow crystal. He knew that it weakened him even more, but he forced his attention on holding the stream of power steady.

Ryuoshi regained consciousness and weakly turned his head to look at Galatica. He wondered who she was and what part she played in the battle, but he hurt too much to really try to ask her.

Meanwhile, Nandeshiko was busy recovering consciousness. The force of the monster's initial reflected attack hadn't hit her directly, but the force was close enough to knock her unconscious.
*Nnn.....what hit me?* was her initial thought. Then she saw the monster, and got up, getting ready to fight. If she hadn't missed everything.

Galatica turned her head and looked at him. ~My self one of the gentlest here?~ She was startled by that. Reaching out she placed her hand on his and stared into his eyes. ~You're wrong, I am not gentle...~
*'Little one why are you crying?' A three year old trapped Galatica looked up at the woman with silver hair, her blue eyes were gentle.
'Are you lost?'
'lost'
'I'm Serenity, and you're?'
'.......'
'I'll name you Sakura, it means cherry blossom. It represents prosperity and hope. Do you like it?' The three year old nodded....*
~NO!~ She cried out mentally. ~No, do not make me remember any more! Who are you, why do you fill me with such lies!~ She shot at Ryuoshi. Her hand tightened on her staff... Lies.

Healer felt like she was going to pass out. Where was she... they couldn't wait much longer... No her energy was depleting.. now, they had to do it now... where was Nandeshiko? Healer began to focus their combined energy...
~Serenity please help us!~ She sent the thought out, unsure if the Queen of Earth would hear....~Usagi-chan please... if even in memory... please...~ She doubted that she could hold the crystal... she wasn't Serenity... and only Serenity or her descendants had the power to wield the crystal.....

Ryuoshi slowly lifted his hand to the side of Galatica's face. It took more of his strength to hold it there, but he gently smiled. ~My sister understands pain, but I soothe it. She guards because it was what she knew from birth. My duty was to seek souls that had died but refused to pass on and ease their way. Your anger tries to hide the gentleness within you, as does your hate, but they are simple illusions, not the true you...~ He liked this ancient and sad girl, and knew that if she allowed it, he could grow to love her. But she clung to her pain and madness, and he might not be able to reach her gentle soul.

Galatica looked into his eyes, his hand was creating a warmth against her cheek.. tears were threatening her eyes. The look, he didn't hate her. She had threatened him.. his sister, everyone.. yet he didn't hate her. ~Illusions...~ She could see how much pain he was in his eyes.. why? Why did he...~I can never be a woman, I can never know such things as joy and happiness close to the one you love. If I power down I once again become the three year old. Doomed to a life of solitude. There is a stone all need in order to grow it is called the stone of flowing.. and mine has been destroyed...~ The tears came now. Each cutting down her cheeks as she looked at him. His back was broken.. his strength failing him.. yet she was more important to him....
*'They could not handle chaos so I had to...'* Galaxia's voice echoed in her ears..
*'Your anger tries to hide the gentleness within you, as does your hate, but they are simple illusions, not the true you...'* Ryuoshi's voice echoed over her sisters.. over the pain brought on the words..
~I...~ She didn't know what to say in the face of this man's belief in her. Turning her head she held his hand against her cheek, closing her eyes. Her lips moved speaking a name that was not heard, the three marks, the past, book of names and her own center mark glowed... giving him her strength...~I have reached the limits of my powers. I can not heal what has been done to you, only give you the strength to make it long enough for Starhealer to regain hers. She or Saturn have the power to heal you. Although Starhealer can do it with out it endangering her life...~ She paused.. in the heart of her madness she had been shown kindness by both Ryuoshi and his sister..~Don't you dare die on me.~ Her mental voice carried the threatening tones.. but also the trembling tones of a lost girl... intermixed...

Ryuoshi's gentle eyes filled with tears for Galatica, and all that had been done to her. ~I won't die yet, there's too much to do and little time to do it in.~ It was strange, he felt closer to her than anyone he had ever met, including his own sister. ~Serenity told me once... that all living things have a counterpart, a soul that they are drawn to. The Princess and Endymion were two such souls, incomplete without each other. In my heart, I find myself wondering if you are my lost half...~ His thoughts trailed off as exhaustion claimed his mind.

Charon gently fed some of her own energy into keeping her twin alive. He'd come so far from his past already, he didn't need to be lost again yet.

"I'm here, sorry, I'm late." Nandeshiko's voice echoed in Healer's mind. Already transformed, the psycho senshi rushed over to Healer's side, and added her energy to that of Healer's.

Healer smiled.. the stain was great, but she wasn't telling them that. ~That's okay.~ She said as she finished focusing the powers of each of them. She brought the crystal forwards and released the power they had built up. It arched out, and hit the monster. She held it as long as she could, then felt her mind slip from her, as the attack star and yellow crystal faded back to their subspace pocket. She fell towards the ground unconscious... unable to hold her senshi form any longer she powered down to the suit she had been wearing earlier... so she didn't see if they were successful or not.

The monster screamed in rage as the power hit him in his eye, then he quietly dissipated into nothing. Calmarya let go of Healer's hands, and sat down in exhaustion. "We did it guys..." she said. "Good job. Kalko and the Empress will be looking for the next crystal once they find out their monster they sent to retrieve this one is dead. I think we should get a good night's rest, regain our strength, and in the morning just see where we go from here. But while we are resting, at least two people should be on guard duty. We can rotate somehow. I can help with the first watch. There's a chance Kalko or the Empress will come after us in the night, and we don't want to all be asleep if they do." she paused, then continued. "Trust me on this, I know Kalko like the back of my hand."

Uranus watched as the beam of power hit the youma. She was glad that after all their effort, the problem was taken care of. But there was another problem of sorts. . .
"Yaten," Uranus said, kneeling down to the Starlight. "We did it." She then lifted up the Starlight, carrying her in her arms.
"I'll stay on guard with you, Calmarya," Uranus said, turning to the white-haired warrior. "But let's go back. We all need to rest."

Yaten's eyes closed and sleeping turned her head against Uranus's shoulder. Her breathing was steady, as she lay in the sky senshi's arms.

Galatica frowned at the events. Then looked at Ryuoshi and lifted her hand. The same energy field that had brought him to her now served to carry him. She looked at the others. "How is she? As far as I knew only the children of the moon kingdom, and only she who would be queen can use the powers of the crystal, so how did she do it?" Galatica shook her head. "While I guard the books, not all knowledge is granted to me, like this for example.."

Calmarya looked at Uranus. "Ok, thanks. Then, after maybe two or three hours, we can switch shifts with two others. Do you need any help with her?" she asked, about Yaten. Then, she looked at Galatica. "I'm pretty sure that the only time that its power is restricted to being used by a moon child is when all the Crystals are together as one Crystal. If they are separated into the seven Rainbow Crystals, anyone with enough power can use them. But it is still very hard. It took all of us combining our energy to get enough power to use it."

"I'll take the second shift, I'm a night person." Charon also felt a tad hyper from all the energy released. She looked over at Galatica. ~If you must break my brother's heart, do it gently...~

"I wasn't much help with the monster. I'll make it up with a double watch, if everyone else needs sleep." Nandeshiko said.

Galatica looked at the slumbering starlight, and at the others. "We play who didn't do what with who later. Right now we need to get a move on." She shook her head. "I have no idea how long I'll stay like this, so you had better make up your mind quickly." She meant stay on the helping side of good... she was already fighting the war inside her mind.. and somehow she doubted that she'd win.

Midoriko couldn't help but understand. ~As the song from that Disney movie Mulan goes, 'Once you find your center, you are sure to win.' Find your center again, Galatica. Ryuoshi will help, if you let him.~

Galatica looked at her sadly. ~You don't understand.. breaking Ryuoshi's heart is the one thing I don't want to do.~ She looked at his slumbering form. ~I want to find the way back, and keep it... but it's not always so easy for everyone.~

Sailor Wind detransformed and stood silently, not rejoicing over their victory, "I'll take the second post as well..." Looking over at Uranus she smiled, "If I have coffee I can stay awake all night and keep those on post company."

Uranus adjusted her arms so she could carry Yaten more comfortably. "No, I've got her, it's okay," Uranus said to Calmarya. "But let's go. C'mon, Michiru, Saturn," she said, looking over her shoulder to them before she walked off.

"No, it's not necessary, Sarice-san," she said to the girl who was Sailor Wind. "You get your sleep. I'm used to being up at all hours. I don't even need caffeine. But if you'd like to stay up, you can." She looked at the girl seriously, but then winked, and kept walking toward Bao's house.

Eventually she reached the house, and she looked around for Bao. Meanwhile, she placed Yaten on the bed Nandeshiko had rested on previously. She waited for the others to arrive; it wouldn't take long.

Galatica followed Uranus up to the house. ~I...I'll let him.. but is he willing to fight this struggle.. even when I lose my mind and turn against all of you...~ Galatica looked at Ryuoshi who was floating next to her... and felt a longing in her heart. A longing to make him better... and a bitterness because she couldn't.

Yaten slept, but her mind took her back to the last days on Kinmoku-sei. She was facing off against Calmarya as Fighter and Maker tried to get their princess to safety. Calmarya seemed impossibly strong... and just when she thought that Calmarya was going to kill her the woman walked over to where she was laying on the ground and shook her head, an odd look in her eyes. Then left for Earth..

Calmarya followed everyone else to Bao's house and stepped inside. *Well, if we can make it through tonight without Kalko arriving, we'll be okay to find the next Crystal.* she thought to herself. *But will the others trust me when they find out the truth about who I really am? Will they still let me help?*

"In that case, I'll stay up just because!" Sarice smiled, "Besides, I feel as if I didn't help anyone..." She walked quickly so she could catch up with Uranus, ~I hope you don't think it rude of me to ask... but, do you trust me? If so, you'll be the first, or so I think... My cousin barely trusted me, and look at what I let happen to him. If only I knew where he were to help him...~ Sarice blushed not really meaning to send all that much to Uranus. *I hope she doesn't think I'm annoying, I think I'm starting to talk too much, I usually don't talk at all... I 'do' trust people with my feelings too much...*

Charon carefully touched her brother's thoughts. ~Hai, he's going to help. He may be a little weapons shy, but he'll fight as fiercely as anyone else here.~ She decided that she might as well get some facts. ~Is there anyway to restore the Stone of Flowing?~

Galatica looked at Charon and blinked. ~To restore the Stone of Flowing? I've heard rumors and bits and pieces of information over the years. The most I could get is that it has to be reborn... but I have no idea what that means. Unless it means that I have to die.~ she thought with a shutter. That wasn't something she wanted to do.. but if it would fix the stone.... looking up she could see Bao's house in the distance.

On the next episode of The Crystal Millennium Chronicles...

Chibi Usa winced. "I confused her with someone else Diana."
"Small Lady?" Diana said softly.
"I've upset her even more..." Chibi said as she walked off to find a quiet place away from everyone. Sinking down to the ground she sighed. "I was only trying to calm her down. I'm sure that new senshi has reasons, and I really don't think Hota-chan needs training. I was just trying to keep the peace." She started crying and buried her face in her hands. "Wonderful, I finally find the senshi again and make one of them mad at me.... and all because I was nervous and forgot what words of wisdom she's said. I didn't mean to put words in her mouth..."
Chibi Usa stood. "I miss Puu, she would understand even if I don't remember right who said it. Luna Sphere appear!" the black ball appeared and she sat down staring at it. "Some great Princess I am." She mumbled. "I doubt mom ever did this."
"Small Lady..." Diana said softly.

Luna watched all of this with sad eyes. Chibi was scared and confused, not thinking things through before she says them. Haruka was mad because of this new senshi and snapping at Chibi Usa, and Yaten and Seiya were having problems... which wasn't good... they were closer than anyone else here...

Yaten looked up at Seiya, startled when she shifted right in her arms. "Give you reasons?" She whispered. "I.... I... can't.." Letting go of Seiya she backed up, turned and shaking her head, and, crying bolts, she took off at a dead run not really caring where she was going but needing space.... before today's events drove her insane. She made it back to the park she had been in before and sat down next to a tree, burying her face in her hands she cried as she realized that this overbearing love is Usagi's and how on Earth did Usagi ever deal with it? Sitting in the shadows she shifted back to male form, wearing a powder blue suit.
