Chibiusa was in the Royal Gardens, looking at the clear, blue sky. She had been back from the past for about a year. When she came back, she became just an ordinary Princess once again, just like before. She could no longer become Sailor ChibiMoon, and was no longer a Sailor Senshi at all. "Do you remember when we were in the past, Luna-P?" she asked her magic ball. Luna-P nodded. "I miss being there. It was so much fun, being a Senshi. Now that I'm not Sailor ChibiMoon anymore, life is so boring." Then, suddenly, the sky got dark. She saw thousands upon thousands of warriors, running on the clouds, all led by a single man, heading for the Crystal Palace. "Mommy! Daddy!" Chibiusa cried, running to the throne room. "We're under attack!"
Meanwhile, Hotaru, Haruka, and Michiru were at the Palace Gates, keeping watch, when they, too, saw the army in the sky. Hotaru pulled out her communicator and summoned Sailor Pluto. "Pluto!" she said. "Warn Her Highness, His Majesty, and the Inner Senshi! We are under attack!" Then she, Haruka, and Michiru transformed. "Quick, get inside!" Saturn said to their families. Not long after the families got into the Palace, the army and their leader landed on the ground.
"I have come to take this planet for my Empress." said the man. "Surrender or die."
"If those are the only choices..."Uranus began.
"We die!" Neptune finished. "DEEP SUBMERGE!!" she cried out, sending an attack at the man. The man simply put up a force field and blocked the attack. No matter what they did, even when Sailor Pluto finally arrived and helped, he simply blocked their attacks.
"Leave the Senshi and the Royal Family to me. The rest of you, take over the rest of the Palace. Then, we will proceed with enslaving the entire Earth! CHARGE!" he cried out to his warriors. At his command, the warriors charged into the Palace. As they did, he blasted all four of the Senshi at once, throwing them several hundred feet away. Greatly injured, and defeated, they did a Sailor Teleport and teleported to the throne room, where the Inners and the Royal Family were.
In the throne room, Chibiusa had just gotten there, and told her parents of the problem, when Pluto came and warned them. Ami, Rei, Minako, and Makoto all made their families hide somewhere in the Palace, along with the Royal Family, and when they were sure they were in safe hiding places, they transformed. They fought as many of the warriors that they could, and were actually winning, until their leader came. As with the Outers, he simply blocked their attacks, and then blasted them through a wall. Around this time, the Outers appeared in the throne room from their Teleport, but were too weak by then to fight well. One by one, the Senshi sent their attacks at this man, and one by one, he sent them back.
"I feel you should know your killer." the man said. "That's such a mean word, though. I'll just say I put you in your place. I am General Kalko. I have conquered many worlds for my beloved Empress, and this world is next! Now, die, stupid Senshi!" he cried out as he raised his hand to send out a sphere of energy at them, which would kill them.
"STOP!!" cried out NeoQueen Serenity, who was hiding with Chibiusa and King Endymion nearby. "Don't hurt them! I know it's me you want!"
"NO!" cried Mars. NeoQueen Serenity knelt down to the Senshi, who were all on the floor together, struggling to get up.
"Listen," she whispered. "If all of us die here and now, who will be left to save the Earth? Don't worry, he won't kill Endymion or I, we are the only ones who truly know how to use the Empyrean Silver Crystal. You must escape, so you can save your families, and the rest of the world." she then stood up and faced Kalko. "Let the Senshi go free. I'm the one with the Empyrean Silver Crystal, one of the most powerful objects of the Universe. Let the Senshi and my family go."
"That's a pretty good offer." Kalko said. "I guess I'll do that. I'll be kind and let you say goodbye to your family as well, if they come out." Chibiusa then ran out, as the Senshi reluctantly hobbled away.
"We'll be back." Uranus said coldly."You have our leaders and our families. We'll be back."
"Just don't let me find you in the city ever again, or else I won't be so nice." Kalko said evilly. "Now, King, I know you're in here, too. You probably think this is a trap, but it isn't. I always keep my word. Besides, your family is up here, you don't want to be separated from them, do you?"
King Endymion angrily walked into the open room. When he did, Serenity stood beside him, and whispered something in his ear. She then held up her hands. The Silver Crystal appeared in between her open palms.
"COSMIC MOON POWER!!" she cried out, activating the Crystal. *This has to defeat him.* she thought. To her surprise, the Crystal had no effect on him. He just stood there.
"Now why did you do that?" Kalko asked. "Now, I'll have to take your little jewel and give it to my Empress." In horror, the Royal Family started running.Kalko chased after them.
They ran all the way to Royal Gardens before anyone noticed them, and before Kalko caught up to them. There, NeoQueen Serenity did the only thing she could think of.
Holding her Crystal, Serenity whispered,"Cosmic Moon Power!" and two things appeared in Chibiusa's hands, a pen and a broach.
"Chibiusa, listen to me." she told her daughter."To use the pen, which was my Luna Pen in the past, hold it up and shout out 'Moon Power' and say what you want to become, and it will disguise you. I had hoped you would be a little bit older for this, and a little wiser, but I have no choice. With the broach, you will become Sailor NeoMoon, the new leader of the Senshi. To use it,hold up your right hand and shout out 'NeoMoon Planet Power, Makeup'. You are the first Sailor Moon of the Crystal Millenium, Sailor NeoMoon." Then, she held up her Crystal, and shouted the magic phrase once again. The Crystal glowed, then lifted up into the sky, broke into seven pieces, and went in various directions. "Do you remember the stories I told you about when the Senshi were searching for the seven Rainbow Crystals to get the Empyrean Silver Crystal?"
"Yeah." Chibiusa said, crying, as she put her pen and broach in her pocket.
"I just now broke the Crystal back into the seven Rainbow Crystals, and hid one Crystal somewhere on each of the seven continents, one Crystal on each. The Senshi are probably hiding out somewhere either in the city, or just outside the city. You must find as many of the Senshi and their allies as you can, and then find the seven Rainbow Crystals. Right now you are a Basic Senshi. Once you find four of the seven Crystals, you will be powered up to Super Sailor NeoMoon. Once you find all seven, and find a way to put them all together once again, you will be powered up into Eternal Sailor NeoMoon. Then, you and the Senshi must find some way to defeat Kalko and free the Palace."
"STOP THEM, IDIOTS!" they heard Kalko scream at some warriors nearby, who had not seen them.
"Go, Chibiusa! The peace of the Crystal Millenium is counting on you!" Endymion said, now crying. Reluctantly, Chibiusa slid under the gates of the Garden, then snuck off the Palace grounds. She waited for hours, waiting on her parents to follow, but they never came. It was only her and Luna-P, hiding in an alleyway off the streets of Crystal Tokyo. She pulled out her broach, and looked at it. It was yellow, and Planet Saturn-shaped. Crying, she put it back into her pocket, and cried herself to sleep.
"Take him to the dungeon." Kalko said to the men holding Endymion. "Put him in the strongest cell. And her..." he said, looking at the crying Serenity. "Take her to my new bedroom." He laughed evilly as the men followed his orders. Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of him. "My Empress!" he cried out, kneeling.
"You let her bodyguards escape, as well as the Princess." she said darkly. "Are you sure that was wise?"
"The Senshi were easily defeated by me. And without a leader, they will be even easier to defeat if they attack us." said Kalko.
"But couldn't the Princess lead them?" The Empress asked.
"With all due respect, Empress, Princess Chibiusa is not even in her high school years yet. She is not old enough to be able to take a leadership role such as this, and be serious about it. She is just now getting into the boy-crazy stage of her years." answered the General.
"For your sake, you better be right, General." replied the Empress coldly. "I see that the NeoQueen has hidden the Empyrean Silver Crystal. I suggest you find it. I am going back to the Living Palace on Nalara. This planet is taken. Of all the worlds you have claimed for me, Kalko, this is the finest, therefore, I name you Governor Kalko, the Governor over this planet. Only I will be able to overrule your decisions. Tomorrow, you will proceed with enslaving the rest of the planet in my name. And you will begin searching for the Silver Crystal. Oh, and one more thing: you will prepare your suicide in case you are wrong about the Senshi and their Princess."
"Yes, my Empress." Kalko said as she vanished in the air.
